Many false churches teach that Canaan was turned black because
of the curse from his father Ham seeing his father Noah naked.
And then theorize that Moses was married to a black woman
because she was a Cushite, theorizing she must be black
because Cush was the son of Ham. NUM 12:1 And Miriam
and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Cushite
woman whom he had married: for he had married a Cushite
woman, (NASB)
GEN 10:9 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and
Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
That Cush was black makes even less sense than Ham was
black because Ham wasn't the one cursed.
So, lets clear this up.
GEN 9:22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the
nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren
without.
GEN 9:23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and
laid [it] upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and
covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces
[were] backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
So.. what was the sin about seeing a naked man? Or is there
something being missed? And why is Canaan cursed? it was his
father Ham that did it.
EZE 22:10 In thee have they discovered their
fathers' nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set
apart for pollution.
Again a sin about one's fathers nakedness.
LEV 18:8 The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt
thou not uncover: it [is] thy father's nakedness.
What that means is Don't have sex with your fathers wife.
The child Canaan was cursed because his father Ham had sex
with his mother (Noah's wife). And no the curse wasn't that
they became black. The Canaanites were not black and neither
were the Cushites. |
