"Accept Jesus into your heart and you will be saved" it sounds
nice, but is it scriptural? Nowhere in the scripture are told
to accept Jesus into our hearts. Some false churches like to
point to this verse REV 3:20 Behold, I stand
at the door, and knock: if any man
hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in
to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
The problem with this is it is in a letter written to the
church (those that are suppose to be already saved)
REV 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the
Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful
and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
How conceited is it to think that God waits on us to accept
Him? Is it not us that needs to hope that He accepts us?
Many are entering through the wide gate of "accepting Jesus
into their hearts"
LUK 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there
few that be saved? And he said unto them,
LUK 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for
many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be
able.
There are a few verses about being saved, but not one of
them comes close to our "accepting Him into our hearts"
MAR 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be
saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
ACT 2:21 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever
shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
ACT 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
ROM 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
2TH 2:10 And with all deceivableness of
unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not
the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
TTS 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have
done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the
washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
By Faith, Repentance, Confession, Baptism, a love for the
truth, belief in His atoning work, the transforming work of
the Holy Spirit and enduring until the finish we are
saved. And for wives there seems to be a special verse for
them.
1TI 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved
in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and
holiness with sobriety.
